For reference, the National Mail Service Updates page, although it states “This information is updated daily. Information on this site is provided for mailers with plant-verified drop shipments going to postal facilities that are closed or have mail entry limits because of natural disasters or severe weather conditions,” does not consider snow a severe weather condition. So, if you, say, lug a trash bag full of packages down to the post office, you’ll have to put them in the outside drop box. Until you accidentally jam it. And the rest will then have to be stacked in the lobby. Mike, Pam, and Emily’s little Mia, if your presents don’t arrive, somebody stole them out of the lobby of the Occoquan post office. It would be a very Grinch-y thing to do, so I don’t suspect you need to worry. And also? It’s really pretty out. And quiet. And cold.
